A year ago I committed to Weight Watchers meetings and fully committed to my journey to better health. More importantly I committed to myself. I wanted to celebrate this accomplishment with a gift to myself– this blog! Welcome and thank you for joining me! I hope to share yummy recipes, lifestyle posts, and give you all a peek into my journey towards balance.
When I first joined Weight Watchers, all I wanted was to lose weight. Little did I know a lot more would change than the number I see on the scale.
Over the past year, I’ve shifted my mindset about eating, dieting, and how I think about myself. Since starting this journey, I’ve learned to embrace the balance. I learned that restricting myself, skipping those happy hours with great friends, and missing out on memories, more often than not lead to later binges. Taking the pressure off myself to not be perfect 100% of the time made this a lifestyle.
Sometimes I still get down on myself, that I’m not at my goal yet or that I’m not happy with a certain body part and I’m working on that. Before those thoughts consumed me. Now my selfconfidence is much higher and I really couldn’t be happier. I’ve lost 72 pounds and would like to lose 15-20 more before our wedding in June 2018.
